    COD Advanced Warfare

God help me, I have no self control. Despite swearing I was done with COD, I found myself at the local Gamestop pre-ordering for the 11pm release tonight.

It's like being addicted to meth. I know it's bad, I know I'm going to be disappointed, but I can't help myself.

Lol,seeker I feel your pain. I'm like that when it comes down to some of the most anticipated games too. What keeps me in line is thinking about the many games I haven't completed yet.

I just bought Sunset Overdrive earlier this week. That's a really good open world game with a lot of humor. I'll probably play that during the week and save AW for the weekends when I have more time to play online. So far after about 40% of the campaign and 4 team death match games I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a much better game than I expected. The only issue I've had was connection related. My first two games my kdr was around 2/1-2.5/1, then I got into a couple of really bad connection rooms and went 1/2 or worse. Not sure if it ISP, PSN or a hosting issue.

Sunset Overdrive while im sure its a fun game its not for me, its just too goofy and playschool looking for me. on top of that im not a huge fan of 3rd person shooters. with that said im actually liking this CoD alot....cant say why but the online is extremely solid, im not getting that stupid ass issue from previous games of getting shot after running around a corner its happened 2 times in the 3+ hours online so far. All the maps are fun except the Jail one(i hate that map cause i suck at it LOL) Framerate seems solid i have seen no hiccups not like in Ghost and i know what digital foundry has said about the framerate drops but i havent noticed it at all in online matches.

my rating for the online portion of the game so far is a 8.4 out of 10, took some points away for some simple things like long times in between matches almost a minute between rounds, lack of maps(just not enough imo) and the grenades, i hate that ****ing nade launcher its pissing me off i cant seem to get the accuracy down and cooking the grenades isnt as easy so yea.

I thought the frame rate issue was just in the campaign.

digital foundry has a one line statement so far saying they are seeing the same framerate in the online as they are in campaign, but i have yet to see this, they also said they are still testing it.

so heres some info for you, if you have a fast internet connection and are hardwired, you should turn the wired connection off and play on your wifi connection to slow your speed down, the reason for this is the "lag compensator" in Advanced warfare calculates how much lag the person with the slowest connection in the lobby has and tries to make it a even playing field. by slowing down your connection youll get less of a lag compensation thus making it seem like the game works better.

I'll try that out if I ever get a chance to play again. The day after I got the game my company put me on mandatory 12 hour shifts. They also added an extra day to my work week. I like the money, but I'd like to have some time to enjoy it too.

Jeez bud thought you had a spending limit on games this yr Lol.......I've said it to a few times now hahaha, talk about a true a$$ gamer! I noticed the other day when I jumped on to play for a sec & seen a bunch of people playing it saying nothing but good things about this version of CoD. I had it pre-ordered a while back but cancelled it due to obvious CoD overload & this is my busy time of yr @ work but now I'm kinda regretting it. Maybe I'll get it for Christmas *Wink* haha
