    PS4 Headset - Skullcandy PLYR 1

I'm looking into a surround sound headset, mainly for playing BF4. Does anyone use the Skullcandy PLYR 1 headset? I've read other places that the voice chat doesnt come across very loud... anyone have similar experiences? Also, if you do have this headset, what are some pro's and cons? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

the voice chat on them is in my opinion horrible, i returned mine i was tired of repeating myself to my friends. felt like i had to yell for them to hear me, ontop of that i didnt thinkt he surround sound was all that great.

i liked these alot slightly more to hook up but they sound good and i have had no complaints about the voice chat. Turtle Beach Ear Force PX4 Wireless Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 TBS-3276-01 - Best Buy

these are what im using now instead of the official playstation headset, which is on my ps3 now.

Thanks for the reply... so with the TB PX4, can you get game audio and chat wireless with PS4? Or do you need a cable connecting to the controller? All their setup manuals show a cable connecting to the controller....

its wireless, they way it works is you have the optical out from the ps4, and a usb wire(for power) going to the sending unit, and yes you need to hook a cable up to the controller for voice chat still, only one i have seen that doesnt do this is the official playstation headsets, i do like the gold series ones, the surround sound isnt as good as these but it works

heres the how to setup video for px4 PX4 setup for PS4? - YouTube

Ok so I bought the Turtle Beach PX4 over the weekend - spent some time playing with it yesterday. I'm not sure how I feel about it. For one, I must have a narrow head, because even when the headset is at it's smallest size, it doesn't squeeze my head very tightly and the ear cups dont form a very good seal around my ears. Headset is still comfortable though. In general I'd say set up was easy and (according to other players) the chat mic works well and the sound quality is high. Surround sound works well too. I did notice though that the bass just makes explosions sound louder, and they lack the real "thump" that you'd like. Also because of Sony's proprietary bluetooth, you cant chat over bluetooth and you still need the chat cable connected to the controller. Thats lame.

Anyone else using the PX4? And any thoughts about a good headset for the PS4 that might offer a smaller size to fit a narrow head??

you pretty much hit the nail on the head, and then forced it into the coffin, only wireless solution i have seen thats as good as wired is the triton A50s bu they are almost as expensive as the ps4 itself.

I just wish I could chat with my headphones (Afterglow x360 headset which are awesome...) but I can't plug the mic jack into the controller as it cancels out the usb and craps out the sound...so I can't use the mic. it's weird how I can't say to my PS4...play sound through USB and play microphone though the plug input on my controller...it just doesn't work. It seems it's one or the other...Does anybody know if this is possible? I've tried all the menu settings but it just doesn't work. I'm assuming the answer will be no.... *sigh*

All sound seems like it's coming through the jack now...but I can't tell if the mic is working? help

Well I thought I'd update and let you all know that my mic is now working... I think one of the patches seemed to fix the problem and all of a sudden I noticed it was working in Destiny. Now I can set up party chat etc and play and it's all working fine. Woohoo!! So no need to replace my x360 afterglow headset as it's awesome any way...and expensive so I'm happy now. Drop me a line some time. PSN: Eizhale
