    Clean PS4 Controller

My brother spilled pancake syrup on my controller. Now the left analog stick is sticky and gets stuck sometimes. How is the best way to clean it? I tried using a wet tissue and a wet rag and it'll feel fine for a while but sooner or later, the analog stick sticks again.

That SUCKS.I'm not sure if you can take it apart to give it a detailed cleaning or not, would have to look at ours when back at home. But I'm sure that's what you'll have to do.

Edit: Actually after seeing this thread I would say you can! how to squeeze more life from your controller

youll have to take the 4 screws out of the back and then take it apart from the hand grip area first to the triggers last. once apart there are some screws holding both the lightbar and the mainboard in place take those out and remember where they went photos of it before and after help, then you can clean it with a little rubbing alcohol and qtips to clean it properly. this is option 1

option 2 is to rip walmart off and buy one from them and then return the broken to them for a full refund. i did this when i was playing with the lightbar and broke the controller. just tell them it was a gift from a wife, mom, or girlfriend PAY WITH CASH!!!!!!

option 2 is the easier option for sure has a very small chance that Walmart will say no i cant take it back but its very very small chance. i just told them the controller didnt work and i found out i no longer needed it anyhow.

My advice to you would be, do not open the controller. Buy some 80% alcohol in your local store. They have it almost everywhere (even better if you could somehow get 100%), just pour it over the stick and make a couple of circles with the analog stick, just move it in every direction possible for some time, the alcohol should wash out the syrup and evaporate after some time. Dont worry, I am 99% sure that the controller will be fine afterwards, it should be, but there is always little chance that something goes wrong.

P.S. I did this with my iPhone 5 when my home button stopped working. I poured 100% alcohol over it, pressed it a few times and it worked like it was new.

And I dont mean you should pour all of the alcohol over it, just a few drops should do the trick. Even better, make a few drops of alcohol, move the stick and then repeat two or three times the procedure so you minimize the danger of something going wrong.

How the hell did you get syrup inside the controller? You are going to have to open it up and use loads of rubbing alcohol. The longer you leave it like that, the stickier it's going to get.

If all fails, then the replacement parts can be purchased online at a cheaper cost then buying a new controller.

who would buy a new controller as i stated if yoiu have a walmart just buy a new one put the broken one in the box and return the broken one. simple as that, just tell them you wife or gf or mom bought it for you and you dont need it. done and done.

That's definitely a better option, sounds like a legitimate excuse. Hahaha.
