two problems the vita has, first off its not being made for the kids and second the people they are marketing for dont want to carry a second device.

ok the people who play handhelds the most are generally kids, they carry thier 3ds or vita with them whenever they leave the house, the problem being Sony isnt marketing the vita for them at all.

adults dont carry handheld gaming systems with them to work and such, they would just use thier phone and play a few games here and there especially with the phones getting more powerful and bigger screens. Remote play is a nice feature but i have found 2 things i dont like any game that uses r3 and l3 and r2 and l2 you have to use that stupid touchpad, my hands are big and i always hit it by accident, secondly i dont need to play a game that badly in my house that i cant just turn my ps4 on, i guess i could always bring it to the crapper but most likely wont. They need to get the vita into the hands of kids if they want to sell more this requires them to market it towards them, hell i cant even remember the last time i saw a commercial for the vita....I love mine i play MLB the show on it mostly, and use it for Netflix alot especially when im cooking for my wife ill just pop netflix on and go to town on it.

The Borderlands 2 bundle that's scheduled to release this spring should give the PS Vita a nice bump in sales. The bundle comes with a Vita Slim, Borderlands 2, and an 8GB memory card for $199. That's what people have been asking for, and it will hopefully help with sales.

I'm probably going to get The Walking Dead bundle before that, but if not, I'll probably take the plunge and get the Borderlands 2 bundle. I've been looking into the PS Vita for two years, and my patience has seemingly paid off!

The Borderlands 2 is a step in the right direction. I could see taking the Vita to work and leaving it in my tool box until breaks. I usually just sit near my machines anyway and it would be a fun way to kill some time. I'd say chances of my buying one in the next six months has moved to around 80%. If they announced a Dishonored, Fallout, or Elder Scrolls game it would be 100%.

I think its safe to say that Sony dropped the ball on the vita and abandoned the handheld during its prime. With mobile gaming popularity steadily increasing. Mobile phones and tablets are bridging the gap and increasing the processing power and battery life. In addition, developers are geared towards producing games for the many casual gamer rather than the few hardcore gamers. Nintendo will not suffer from the steady increase of mobile gaming due to Nintendo make games for everyone and their games are exclusively for their handheld and consoles. I'm not totally sold on the remote play for vita. Its a bit gimmicky for me to buy into purchasing a vita.

Now this is not to say its not a good handheld. Cause graphically its comparable to ps3. But Sony should not have waited years to re-endorse the handheld. Timing is everything and Sony didn't take advantage of it.

I wouldn't consider remote play a gimmick. It works well when it works. I haven't had a chance to try it away from home since my work wifi is restricted. Although some games on the PS4 I feel I can only enjoy with a big screen. Like COD, BF

Well, a lot of people just wanted the Vita for one of 2 reasons: the Off-TV play, and Monster Hunter games. The MH games are now more successful on 3DS, and they won't be on the Vita unless it starts selling (in cruel irony). And the Off-TV play feature is a good thing, but I have a Wii U, and I know that I don't use Off-TV play much on that. And would I buy something just for Off-TV play on the PS4? Hell no. If they packaged the Vita with the PS4 for a much cheaper price, and advertised games like Tearaway for it, then it would be doing much better.

You're right. They aren't marketing it right and it's definitely hurting the device. Personally I would like more games on it. Now all I play on the vita is uncharted. And the off tv thing is useful when you have to share a TV. If you come home and want to play some PS4 you don't have to wait for them to get off or kick them off to play. Like I said I haven't been able to try connecting from a distance but i would always use that feature at work during my break if I could. It's also stupid how they offer 3G yet you can't remote play on it. I'm sure it's cause there might be a **** load of lag or what not but I wish it was something that was told to me before I bought some data.

That's a interesting question, I haven't heard anybody address if there will be any difference in performance between the WiFi and the 3g model when using the remote play, If any. I just can't really imagine the vita picking up in sells at this point unless the playstation now service becomes available. That might provide a push in the right direction in addition to the remote play feature.

well i think the ps vita slim or whatever its called, will increase sales its a fantastic deal, 200$ for a ps vita slim, 8gb memory, and Borderlands 2 with all the dlc!!!! hell it makes me wish i held off on my vita even though i prefer the OLED screen of the SLCD screen. if sony can get certain games to use the Vita as a 2nd screen like the wiipad it may pick up in sales. but the vita will be like the psp just continue to be sold as a second thought from sony, its selling decently in Japan and besides the fact that people seem to think its not selling well there are over 7 million of them in the hands of people, thats enough to keep the system on life support.
