I actually hope that they do give it another go. But this time, with a more open minded approach. Nintendo has to realize this isn't the 80's and 90's anymore. They can't survive off of those titles forever, I mean they've done alright so far but they need to try some different things. I believe the ONLY reason they even implemented the touchpad in the controller, was to try and recreate their success with the Wii, and have a unique controller hoping it will appeal to casuals like it did with the Wii. I feel they need to concentrate on getting third party support for sure. Not be so prideful, I love Nintendo, the first system I ever played on was the original NES. I don't currently own a Wii-U, and didn't own a Wii last generation. Nor have I really been following the Wii U news. Besides third party support, and that ugly controller, what else is wrong with the Wii-U? I'm not sure if this is right, but maybe the U stands for universal? Since you can play it on your TV or your controller, other than that I haven't got a clue! LOL hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes. Third party support would at least be able to hold people over, until the exclusives start coming out. Which would leave consumers happier w/their purchase, considering they would actually have games to play. That's the main thing I've heard people are complaining about. The lack of games. I plan on purchasing one later this year, I'm going to be tapping out to my wallet this month. LOL hell, it may even deliver a knock out blow! I pre-ordered both the PS4, and the XB1. With all the bad news that keeps coming out about the XB1, it has me seriously considering selling it on EBAY or something. I believe only 3 or 4 of their launch titles will be native 1080p. These are the titles that the official Xbox magazine used as examples. Kinect Sports Rivals, Need for Speed: Rivals, Fantasia: Music Evolved, Skylanders, NBA 2K14 and Forza Motorsport 5. What's funny is in the title of the article, they warn their readers that there may be comments like damage control, or MS spin. I think only 4 of these titles will be available at launch though. None of them really impress me that they were able to hit 1080p, I seriously have a feeling that Titanfall will even be 720p upscaled. So I'm really nervous about my Xb1 purchase. Should've just gotten the Wii U w/ the PS4 and waited on the reviews of the XB1. I'd be more at ease, and so would my wallet lol.

your right, the Wii u not only alienated families with its poor marketing and outdated gaming practices and lets not forget lack of advertisement. They also manage to scare away third party developer/publishers as well. But even with that said, the game cube is still their worst gaming system to date for Nintendo. I think the Wii u expectations to outsell the Wii is part of the major disappointment. I think their still a small window of opportunity for Nintendo to correct it but that's has to happen by the holidays with another price cut and more games

Lmao, you make me laugh. After all, 99% of your information is factually incorrect. Allow me to explain, the GameCube was a really good console, but it lost the console war due to the PS2's vast array of games. Also, don't forget the Wii U is starting to rise, maybe little by little, but, it's getting better.
The Wii U has already had a price cut, that would be just silly. Besides, I brought mine for slightly more than $200. Great deal for a great system, eh?

No, they haven't. Nintend has been advertising like crazy nowadays, it's never been too late. Remember the PS3 and 3DS? They both had terrible launches, and so will the PS4 and Xbox One. The Wii U had the same too, so every console is and will be just the same.

.-. Really, they make no profit? I don't think so, I've been a fan of all companies for a long time, except Microsoft. They can actually last until 2055 without making any profit. But right now, the Nintendo 3DS is actually doing far better, don't forget Pokemon X and Y, as well as The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds; they're both practically selling like hotcakes.

Correction legacy, if you look at Nintendo 3ds recent sells. The Nintendo 3ds was bound to eventually sell do to the price drops. If my memory serves correct. The original price for the 3ds was $249. So dropping the price was the only reasonable thing Nintendo can do in order to push units. Especially when your asking for a kings ransom during a struggling economy. Which as I address in my earlier statement of alienating your fanbase and let's not mention that the systems 3d capibility was not received well among many people. Whether it was do to negative reports about the 3d effects on children's eyes or headaches for long usage of the 3d feature, battery life and even its bulky design. No one questioned whether the system was good or not. The focus was about how well received the wiiu console is to the public and what Nintendo failed to do in order to corrected the situation.

first, Nintendo admitted to falling short on their expectation in comparison to the wii success. The wii sold 100 million worldwide meanwhile the wiiu is expected to sell 25 million. The wii u was also priced high for starters, the launch titles were scarce, and very few were aware of the wiiu. In addition, shortly after it's launch ps4 & Microsoft announce it's next gen successors.

Another example of Nintendo alienating its fanbase is with their marketing strategies towards their fanbase. From the wii being created for the causal gamers to now Nintendo flipfopping to aim for the hardcore gamers which is not a good move on Nintendo's part. If NIntendo is planning to following up on the success of the wii then aiming for the hardcore gamers is not the marketing plan you should be focusing on(remember the GameCube that you stated was a really good system, well a lot of gamer beg the differ) let's face it,The wiiu lacked the support due to poor marketing. This is not an opinion it's a fact.

So let's give the wii u a double face palm for realizing that the fans that made the wii success should be the focus. For example, the newly aired commercial aimed towards their original fan-base (families) and the release of a stripped down version of the wii called the wii mini. I'm still a believer in turnarounds and second chance for the Nintendo's wiiu gaming console to make an amazing comeback. So hopefully time will tell if there back to the basics campaign will help them in remarket the wii u cause the hardcore gamers do not support the system. So whether Nintendo need to do additional price cuts to justify it place in the game markets as a contender or whether they should just bow down and hit the canvas and hit the drawing board in hopes of creating the next successful console.
