Post Xbox One: Five reasons to fear for Microsoft’s new console

Here's an interesting article that seems to concur with the mainstream opinion of The One. These are the top five things you should fear about the new console:

    1. Used games aren't going to be what they used to be
    2. Zero backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games and hardware
    3. You can play single-player games offline, except when you can’t
    4. Kinect may be watching you more closely than you know
    5. Xbox One’s TV features look amazing – if you live in the United States

Well that kind of sums up everything, now doesn't it?

i am one of the few people who aren't actually ridiculing it to death.
microsoft said at e3 the only tv stuff you will see are the ones the games are showed on.
    Push to test.
    Release to detonate.

I have to admit, I really do like that HUD of theirs and that instant change-over mechanism from movies to game to music to tv, etc.

Yeah, that conference destroyed all chance of me buying an xbox, not to mention the anti-consumer crap they are putting in it.

I'm fairly curious, but fairly skeptical as well.

Microsoft has gone out of its way to ensure fans of solo games that the system is capable of functioning in the absence of an Internet connection, and that you’ll be able to play single-player games without being connected to the Web. But just because a device is capable of a thing doesn’t guarantee that it will actually and always do that thing.

Without getting too geeky, one of Xbox One’s technological advantages is that it can offload certain tasks to the cloud, allowing local hardware to concentrate on more immediate processes. This clever feature will surely prove tantalizing to developers striving to make graphically and technologically complex games.

In terms of innovation and being "next gen", I feel like the Xbone is doing much more than the PS4, which basically seems like a stronger PS3. (this comes from someone who doesn't care to "share")

Xbox one is going to bomb for the sole reason that it costs $500.
